Poppy Playtime places players inside a large abandoned toy factory with puzzles blocking the route forward. Exploration reveals interactive objects, switches, doors, and clues hidden throughout different rooms. Environmental puzzles can require specific objects or switch sequences before players can continue. The factory also contains a frightening creature that can appear while players investigate their surroundings. Careful movement helps players avoid dangerous encounters during puzzle-solving sections. The first-person perspective keeps nearby rooms and corridors central to the experience.
